LINEAGE HOUSE / PROGRAM TRANSPARENCY

A beautiful portrait is
not a record.

Thoughtful placement begins with clear questions about identity, source documents, welfare, and the responsibilities that follow. This educational example shows what to ask—not what a fictional breeding program has verified.

THE EVIDENCE CHAPTER

Look past the beautiful beginning.

Understanding responsible breeding means asking for records and lived care, not relying on claims.

01 / CANINE PROGRAMCare is the commitment.
01 / 03

A life together begins with better questions.

Ask for original health, parentage and welfare records, understand daily care, and discuss fit before any commitment. No records are verified in this demonstration.

THE RECORD SEQUENCE / 01–04

Proof has a process.

Collecting information is not the same as independently checking it. Every request should leave room for an unanswered question.

01

Identify the animal and source

Ask what original registration or identity documents exist, who issued them, and what those records actually connect.

02

Examine health evidence in context

Different species and dog breeds have different relevant screenings. Request the underlying results and discuss their limitations with qualified professionals.

03

Understand lived welfare

Discuss handling, environment, care routines, behavior, socialization, enrichment and ongoing support—not only appearance.

04

Read the long-term agreement

Clarify ownership, responsibilities, written placement or transfer terms, ongoing support and returns before making a real decision.

ORIGINAL SOURCE REFERENCE

Health-screening questions vary by breed.

The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals describes breed-specific screening protocols and public-data requirements in its CHIC program. Having a CHIC number does not itself mean every individual result was normal or that any animal here is certified.
